Mini Kokedama - mindful crafting at Niwaki Showroom
Discover the charm of Kokedama with Yuka as she guides you through this traditional form of Japanese garden art, transforming a plant into a living sculpture. In this relaxed, hands-on session, you’ll learn how to craft your own mini Kokedama using sustainably sourced and locally produced materials.
Kokedama, meaning ‘moss ball’ in Japanese, is a traditional practice that transforms a plant into a self-contained display by wrapping its roots in soil, encasing them in soft moss, and binding them with string. It embodies the Japanese principles of simplicity and harmony with nature, offering a mindful, creative way to bring greenery into your home.
If you want to cancel or reschedule a workshop booking, please give as much notice as possible. Full refunds or changes to the booking can be made up to 7 days before the workshop. Regretfully, we are unable to offer refunds or reschedule your booking after this point. The workshop is 1 hour long, but please allow 15 minutes before the start time to get yourself settled.

Create beautiful flower images with your smartphone
Join local photographer Matt Parker at the Margaret & Wolfe studio in Box for an afternoon of relaxed and creative photography surrounded by flowers in a very special environment.
During the afternoon you will create a small series of striking flower photographs using just your smartphone (iPhone or Android).
Matt will guide you step-by-step through composition, lighting and simple editing with a free app so that you leave with images you’ll be proud of. And we have full access to a stunning collection of dried and living flowers provided by Margaret & Wolfe flower studio.
Matt is an experienced photographer, trainer and mentor who specialises in helping people discover more creative ways of seeing. He is on hand throughout the session to make sure that you receive tips, personal feedback and inspiration.
This workshop is limited to just eight participants to ensure that everyone receives plenty of individual guidance and feedback.
During the session you will learn how to:
Use light and background to make flowers stand out
Use a simple free editing app to enhance your images
Add texture to give your images an artistic feel
Make more creative images with your smartphone
